Marunouchi / 丸の内

In the west side of Tokyo Station, Marunouchi is literally means “ within the circle “, and it is the name of the area between the west side of Tokyo Station and the Imperial Palace.
In this area, modern office buildings and commercial facilities stand side by side.

Tokyo Station ( west side )

The Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building was built in 1914, the renaissance-style red-brick building used to be a Tokyo landmark. During the war, some parts of the station burned down, but the present building was restored to its original appearance in 2012.
