Geek Holy Land / OTAKU
Akihabara is also famous as a center of Japanese otaku,
meaning a nerd of anime culture in Japanese.
Maid cafes where waitresses dress up and act like maids
or anime characters are popular even among the foreign tourists.
The Akihabara Crossfield complex consists of the Akihabara Dai Building and the UDX building.
The second floor of the UDX Building houses the Akiba Info Center
and the fourth floor is home to the Tokyo Anime Center.
AKB48 Cafe and shop is very close to Akihabara station. Akihabara48 Thheater is,
Don Quijote Building 8F, opposite of UDX Building.
The location is memorable for AKB48 group.
It began from this theater with the concept to say
" Girls Idol that you can meet if you go there. " on December 8, 2005.
From the JR electric town exit,
you can see Radio Kaikan Building.
In 5th floor of this building, Kaiyodo gallery “ Hobby Lobby Tokyo “ is famous.
This shop is the Japan's only retail shop of the model manufacturer.
Many elaborated figurines from popular characters to Buddhist statues, can be found here.

In the south, There are two Japanese soba restaurants that I want to guide you.
Kanda Yabu Soba / 藪蕎麦 ( http://www.yabusoba.net ),
located 2-10, Kanda-awaji-cho, Chiyoda-ku.
As a representative of the Kanda,
they have long history and keep the atmosphere of Japanese traditional style.
They reopened in October 2014.
Kanda Matsuya / 神田まつや ( http://kanda-matsuya.jp ),
located 1-13, Suda-cho, Chiyoda-ku.
It is possible to feel the folksy atmosphere
and the history of this restaurant through its founding style.
Delicious, and atmosphere development that feel so relax can be great.
Noodle is, it is all hand-made without resorting to the machine.
Second-hand Books Area
There are about 200 second-hand book stores with a total storage of more than 10 million books west side of Kanda area. In addition to this, There are many sporting goods stores, particularly, you can find good equipments for skiing and snowboarding.
