Seven Virtues of Bushido
BUSHIDO, traditional values and code of conduct that emphasize is mentioned.

1, " Righteousness / 義 " Correct judgment or justice / 正義

" Virtuous action is a straight and narrow path.

It could have been the tool of cowards.
But Bushido had a keen and correct sense of courage -
the spirit of daring and how one conducts himself in all situations.
2, " Courage / 勇 " The spirit of daring and bearing
" Courage " was also one of the virtues necessary to the samurai.

3, " Kindness / 仁 " The feeling of mental pain
" Kindness influences anything which is in its way, just as water overcomes fire.
The feeling of distress is the root of kindness,
so a good man is always mindful of people who are suffering and in distress. "
Kindness to the weak, the oppressed or the defeated was a virture which was becoming to a samurai.
" Mercy of the samurai / 武士の情け ", or " The tenderness of the warrior ", it does not mean a blind impulse.
It is intended that contains the appropriate consideration
to justice of those who have the power of life-and-death power in the background.
The bravest people are the most tender and loving people are daring people.
Love, giving freely (money, time, etc.),
the feeling of tenderness for another person,
sympathy and pity have always been recognized as the highest virtues of the human soul.
These are the virtues worthy of a leader.
The highest requirement of a leader of men is to be kind and good.
If the leader is kind, the people will love what is right.
A leader must win the hearts of the people.
4, " Politeness / 礼 "
" In its highest from politeness is close to love.
Politeness is patient, kind, does not envy, does not praise itself,
is not proud, behaves correctly and does not allow evil. "
Politeness, resulting from the humility and charity,
and those that do things by the friendly feelings for others,
it appears as always graceful sensitivity.
Its sensitivity, appears to trivial behavior of everyday life.
Politeness gives grace to manners.
But its function does not stop there.
Suitable behavior comes from goodness and is put into action
by tender feelings toward other people - a graceful expression of sympathy.
The conditions necessary to Politeness,
crying along with the people who are crying,
it is to rejoice with the people who are in joy.
5, " Sincerity / 誠 " Honesty and sincerity
" Without honesty and sincerity, politeness is nothing.
Doing the right thing beyond the proper bounds becomes a lie.
Sincerity is the beginning and the end of all things. "
For samurai, that cheat and to lie, was the disdain with those cowardly.
The samurai social status was higher than the merchants and farmers,
a higher level of Sincerity was required.
To lie for warrior was that it was considered to be a sign of " Weakness " rather than sin.
And, the fact that the weak was that very disgraceful for a samurai.
If other words, samurai there is no " sincerity " is a disgraceful samurai,
it is say that the samurai warrior that he has " sincerity " is honor.
