Kojiki / 古事記
is the oldest extant Japanese history book comprising three volumes,
which was recited by HIEDA-no-Are/稗田阿礼 and compiled by O-no-Yasumaro/太安万侶 in 712 AD.
It was written in a combination of Kanji/漢字, Chinese Characters, and the pronunciation of Japanese,
called Yamato-Kotoba/大和言葉, it was old words to Japan.
The explanations were added to some parts which are hard to understand.
The years were not marked.
Nihonsyoki / 日本書紀
The first official chronicle comprising 30 volumes,
which was completed by Prince TONERI/舎人親王 and O-no-Yasumaro/太安万侶 in 720 AD.
It was written in classical Chinese/漢文 as the official document at that time.
Several different legends were added to each passage.
The years and dates were marked.
